Investigation on part design with Incremental Sheet Forming technique
WP Leader: RWTH-IBF, Aachen
Acquire basic knowledge of the process regarding process limits, new forming strategies and the properties of parts made using Incremental Sheet Forming. Form basis for development of dedicated FE solvers by assessing the performance of today’s software and providing input data required for the FE simulation of Incremental Sheet Forming.
Process: Scale up of Incremental Sheet Forming process for industrial application
WP Leader: ASCAMM
The objective of this work package is the development of a process suited to an industrial environment, ready
for validation and implementation in the core SMEs.
In order to achieve this objective, investigation must be performed on the actual process, determining the influence
of the process parameters and the support tool, and improve this actual process. Special attention will be given to
the development of specific forming tools and new process steps introducing complementary technologies. The
influence of parts’ scaling up will also be investigated as this can be a powerful tool in order to speed up process
design.
Finally, in this task will also be performed the main tasks for the adaptation of simulation algorithms to ISF and
the development of a specific CAEM software interface
Process implementation and manufacturing of sample parts
WP Leader: SERA CD
Validate process through the fabrication of real parts; this will be done through the following
intermediate objectives:
Produce 3 real parts by Incremental Sheet Forming, using the final version of the software; manufacture finished
products using these real industrial parts
Exploitation & Dissemination
WP Leader: Sernauto
Produce high quality training material, disseminate widely the project’s results and agree on a clear exploitation plan between partners
Project Management
WP Leader: Asermm
The objective of this task is to perform the overall project management, including the financial, administrative and technical management as well as the interface with the European Instances and establishing good relations and communications within and outside of the consortium
